Getting Started
Before you start creating your website please read this page along with
the Documentation Link in your control panel. The pages will help you get started.
Accessing your site
You can use either FTP or FrontPage to build and load your site to
our servers. We recommend you choose one option.
They handle permissions differently and FrontPage sites can be
corrupted if you use FTP Access.
FTP Access: Use your domain name as the server
http://yourdomainname.com
If you are using FrontPage on your site use
http://www.yourdomain.com as your server.
Your First Pages
1. All pages that will be accessed on the internet need to go in the
public_html folder or above. The main page you want
individuals to visit needs to be named one of the following:
index.html, index.htm, default.htm, default.html.
2. There are some great free programs for building your pages.
Firstpage http://evrsoft.com is probably one of the most popular
programs.
3.
Additional Help
There are a number of free features included with your plan.
Access you control panel via http://yourdomain:2082 to work with the
features. There are some great tool in the panel for adding
email addresses, installing programs, creating sub-domains and they
are available instantly with a click of the mouse. Feel free
to open a ticket to our support team to address any issues you have.
A ticket number is assigned and progress is tracked.
Email servers
The typical email servers you will use for your account will be
mail.yourdomain.com for both SMTP and POP. Some ISPs have spam
blocking tools installed which may prevent you from sending mail
out. Each ISP is different but if you have an issue the
typical solution is to use the outgoing mail servers for your ISP.
All other settings remain the same. For example if you had
Earthlink, the outgoing mail server smtpauth.earthlink.net and you
would have to authenticate when checking the mail. Our company
or any other hosting provider for that matter, can not change ISP
settings since its related directly to their clients, most of them;
however do have a work around if you have an issue sending out your
mail from your domain. Webmail is also available at
http://yourdomain.com:2095
